09/06/2009When I was in Brazil, Guilherme’s mom gave me a few dresses. I liked them but they aren’t usually my style: cotton, big prints with elastic waistband. However, this is an example of a very atypical dress and accessories that I pulled together into a rather satisfactory outfit! I have never been one for animal print nor for gold accessories, but I think they can mix in a chic way.

  • Headband by Louise Black (the one from Project Runway!) – find at louiseblack.etsy.com
  • Floral/Animal print – Guilherme’s mom gave it to me in Brazil
  • Black beaded necklace
  • To the One I Love giant gold ring – Betsy Johnson Boutique in Seattle, WA
  • Black stretchy belt
  • Black fishnets
  • Gold buckle flats – Vivian Westwood for Melissa, purchased in Brazil

that is a fantastic dress, and i covet those melissas. isn’t brazil just the best place to buy them? they’re something like 5 times the price in london :-( oh, and did you manage to go vintage shopping over there .. how did you find it ..? xx

Melissa shoes in Brazil were so so much cheaper than any I’ve ever found online, I think I paid $150 and got four pairs of shoes. Vintage shopping pretty much didn’t exist, and neither did antiquing, so I didn’t end up getting anything cool!
