I waited too long to take my photo today so I had some white spots from the espresso machine on my clothes
I so seldom wear black from head to toe anymore as I used to in 2003. My uniform in undergraduate was black sweater, black skirt, black stockings, black flats and maybe a pastel shirt under the sweater for some color. I thought I was being practical because everything matched and I did not have to worry about planning elaborate outfits. When I started documenting my outfits back in 2005, it really pushed me to find interesting, vibrant pieces to include so that the photographs would stand out. I had only been documenting for about 6 months when my flickr stream was featured on Fashion Help for Recovering Goths! I still wear full on black from time to time but I consider it more “playclothes” than real clothes.
I’m a sucker for hidden details that are revealed as you move about in the outfit, for example, hidden back bows and my 1930s valentine tattoos!
