IMG_8724I love brown and red! I have tried so hard to successfully incorporate animal print in a tasteful way in my wardrobe in the past few years, and the only things I’ve held on to are this fluffy collar from H&M and a muff from Coquette Faux Furriers.  I’ve tried on a billion leopard print dresses but they are too rockabilly Portland for my taste.

january 9 January 9th, 2007 – this was the first incarnation of this outfit nearly three years ago. I was still in Graduate school in Eugene, OR and I took this photo right before I rode my bike to school that morning. I’m still using the tube of Russian Red lipstick I wore in this photo. How little has changed!

IMG_8754Today was a brown and red kind of day, obviously! Tetsie (the other Grackle Sister) showed up to work at the toy store and we worked the counter together. We’ve been friends long enough that we synchronize our speech and actions, so people get a little curious about us curling ribbon and suggesting Hello Kitty toys in synch.

i really, really, really love your hair the colour it is now. i never dye my hair and you make me want to! it looks so rich and really brings out a lot of your features. maybe it’s the pairing with the brown that brings it out so much?

    lovely outfit, as usual.

aaaaand it goes without saying that tetsie is a stone cold fox.
