My daily outfit photo was taken about five hours later than I normally take it, hence the sunshine and shadow!
Guess who else lives in Austin? These birds! Are they pheasant? Some kind of chicken? This city girl doesn’t know!
We also saw wild green parrots who have built quite a substantial nest in the spotlight beams above the intramural fields. It’s said that someone let some domesticated birds go a few years ago and they’ve mated and build a little colony. Maybe Texas is similar to their native climate? It was really sweet to hear them peeping and chirping high above our heads while the sun was setting.
Ahh! I want to see wild parrots! You look so glamorous in that coat, the addition of the dog makes you look like a vintage starlet taking her pet out for a walk.
I do believe those are guinea foul!
Mego – Is that a kind of chicken? The one on the right (the male?) has spotted feathers that I know I’ve seen before… maybe attached to a vintage hat?
These little guys were wandering around in the street and pecking in random yards. There were two house cats calmly sitting about ten feet away from them. I guess they are all friends!
Those are guineas! My friend used to have them in her yard. I think they get rid of ticks and other bugs, but they were mean little things.
They are from africa. My mom has some. they eats the pests from her garden. They are hilarious and very brave (will chase the dogs) but also horrible parents.
