  • Vintage lipstick red beret – Nobody’s Baby, Eugene, OR
  • Adorable blouse from Jitterbuggin on Etsy – www.etsy.com/shop/jitterbuggin
  • 1940s skirt that goes to a suit set
  • Green Remix Wedges
  • 1920s Harold LLoyd style glasses

The blouse I’m wearing is from Jitterbuggin’ on etsy. It’s so cute! All handmade and they come in bigger sizes, too. I ordered one more just like it (it has kittens on it).
I’ve been needing some more blouses that don’t button up the front. My buttons have a habit of unloosening themselves. Can’t have that! When I saw Drew Barrymore in Grey Gardens last week I knew what I wanted the basic shape to be.
I got these glasses a few years ago when I first moved to Austin, on my first trip to Uncommon Objects. They were a bit crooked, but I took them to an eyeglasses shop and they heated them up and put them right. However, they told me it would be a $70 charge to simply put glass in the frames, so I just wear them plain and hope that no one thinks it strange.

Today I had to fight off Harry Potter references at work. They’re more like Harold Lloyd, anyways!

I’ve been wanting some button-back blouses, too, but I am worried they will either be too big or for the size be so tight the back will “strain” when I bend over. You don’t have that issue, do you? I love that outfit of Barrymore’s, and Jitterbuggins’ blouses.

  2. This one doesn’t button up the back – it just slips over the head and the top bow clasps. I have had blouses that button up the back but it’s hard to find people to button them up for you!

Found you via Sunny Buick – wanted to say hi the minute I read about the Harry Potter references! I wear similar 1930s style repro glasses from Old Focals in Pasadena, and while I get lots of compliments on them, the compliments are usually followed by a Harry Potter reference :)

Do you know where I can find similar oversized Harold Lloyd glasses?

  6. I found some on Amazon that look similar to this pair: http://www.amazon.com/Round-Eyewear-AA-180E-eyeglasses/dp/B002EX7ESM/ref=pd_sbs_a_3

    good luck!
I don’t know where you’re located but when I was in Paris I saw a LOT of this round spectacle style of glasses.
