People sometimes ask me why I want a phonograph, and I tell them the reason I bought one is because of the scene in American Tail when Fievel hears his father’s violin playing from several stories up, but when he climbs the building he realizes that it’s really a phonograph. He sneaks up inside of it and cries.

Mine is a reproduction phonograph, but I hope someday when I have a proper career that I can get a giant one for my sitting parlor that is hand painted and ridiculous.
